COVID-19 Assistance
President's message to our members
As this is a very hard time for the Hunting and Fishing Industry in our province NBPOGA is working very hard on your behalf on seeking out as much assistance we can find to hopefully will be of some value to you and your business. Going forward, those working on your behalf will be using our website to list what ever programs are available along with a brief description on what the program is for. Some of these will be of no value to some and some will see support for their lodges.
As NBPOGA does not get involved in your lodges or financial situation, we ask that you visit our website often to see what is available and go to the links to do your own personal business. We, however, will assist in answering your questions you may have AFTER you have researched your program. We are not financial advisors but will assist where possible.
Some programs will be discontinued and will be deleted as we become aware of this. Others will have the application changed and may not work for you today but will tomorrow so check them out often. I have very good people working with me on seeking help and they also are very busy. I congratulate them for the support they are doing on behalf of our members.
If you have questions, please send them to me at [email protected] so, as time provides, I can respond ASAP. In the meantime, STAY SAFE and good luck going forward and realize NBPOGA values your membership and will work hard on your behalf.
Dale Clark
President:NBPOGA

5/22/2020: Further to our discussions with the Federal Minister on Tuesday, and Minister Joly indicating changes were in progress with some of the Federal programs, we have highlighted some updates in relation to the CERB and CEBA programs below.
► Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB): The Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) gives financial support to employed and self-employed Canadians who are directly affected by COVID-19.
If you are eligible, you can receive $2,000 for a 4-week period (the same as $500 a week).

► CEBA (Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) (updated December 2020): The Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) provides interest-free, partially forgivable, loans of up to $60,000, to small businesses and not-for-profits, that have experienced diminished revenues due to COVID-19 but face ongoing non-deferrable costs, such as rent, utilities, insurance, taxes and wages.
CEBA has recently been expanded to include an additional interest-free $20,000 loan, 50% of which would be forgivable if repaid by December 31, 2022.
This means the additional loan effectively increases CEBA loans from the existing $40,000 to $60,000 for eligible businesses, of which a total of $20,000 will be forgiven if the balance of the loan is repaid by December 31, 2022.
Business owners can apply for support until March 31, 2021 through their banks and credit unions.

► Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (RRRF) (updated December 2020): This program has $170 million in support for affected Atlantic Canadian businesses and communities.
ACOA is now accepting applications for the RRRF online and will continue to accept and assess applications until March 31, 2021, or until the funding runs out, whichever comes first.
Eligibility: Applicants must apply for financial assistance under other COVID-19 related programs, such as the Canadian Emergency Business Account (CEBA) prior to applying for RRRF. The objective of the program is to fill the gaps left by other federal relief measures and to stabilize businesses or organizations who are experiencing liquidity needs.
